John joined UNITEC in August of 2016 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut (UCONN).  He likes to say he was “born and raised at OSC”.  Starting his career with Otis right out of college in 1991, he worked in the spare parts Assembly department as a manufacturing engineer, transitioned to an Electronic Service Engineering and then on to the Call Back Reduction Center.  In 1998, the Otis Elevator’s mechanic tech support line, Otis ROLE, started at John’s desk.  Through staffing and continuous improvement, growing Otis ROLE into a premier elevator knowledge and support center was the focus of John’s life for 18 years.  John is now happy to add his expertise on Otis products and procedures to UNITEC’s already impressive Customer Service and Engineering support capabilities.

He enjoys volunteering with the local Middle and High School’s Drama Club as well as with their theater productions.  Starting as a dad who just helped move some boxes around, he is now considered their Production Manager but he says that just means “keep track of everything”.

John and his family love to travel domestically and to visit family in France.  He’s a self-proclaimed expert with VRBO and jokes that he missed his calling as a travel agent.
