Duane joined UNITEC in December 2002. He had previously been the Supervisor of the Mechanical Engineering Group at the Otis Service Center. Duane brings 32+ years of Otis/UNITEC experience to his Service Support role, including four years in new construction field installation and modernization, and the balance in various Engineering support roles.
As an Otis engineer, Duane was responsible for providing complete Engineering and field-technical Service Support for all mechanical components of elevator and escalator systems. This role often required performance of service upgrades and interchangeability solutions as well as parts identification & technical writing responsibilities. Many of those responsibilities have now carried over to UNITEC. Duane also brings along a full knowledge of the Otis documentation systems dating from the early 1900s to present day, elevator component manufacturing methods and Spare Parts Leaflets coordination. Duane holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University and obtained his Elevator Mechanic’s Certification in 1989.
