CODE REQUIREMENTS - Braille plates and safety signage are required by the national elevator code and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. Various safety signs help inform the public of important information and tactile identification plates aid the sight-impaired with raised numbers, symbols, and braille.  Safety signs are typically required at each landing entrance jam and inside the elevator on the car operating panel.
