Door Lock Monitoring
A door lock monitor (DLM) is a device installed on most types of elevator controllers to prevent the elevator doors from leaving the floor with their doors open due to accidentally or intentionally bypassed door circuits. It prevents the automatic operation of passenger and freight doors with faulty door contact circuits. A17.3* code requires that all existing elevators have an additional cab door monitoring system and logic. A17.3* code for existing elevators implements safety enhancements retroactively.
